The suggester says, "I've been a fan of ~Deep-Hurting's work for a while now. He's an editorial cartoonist who puts a painstaking amount of time and effort in his work. His cartoons are beautiful, witty and well-drawn, contain powerful metaphors and convey a clear message, with a minimum amount of labels and dialogue."

Description

Apparently I draw zombies well with quite a lot of ease. Who knew?

This cartoon got quite a bit of traffic on my website thanks to Reddit and Stumbleupon... unfortunately, that didn't keep up longer than a couple of days.

I think I may make a habit of posting editorial cartoons here a few days/maybe a week after they show up on my cartoon blog, so if you wanna see stuff when it's fresh, go here.

This particular cartoon can be found in its native environment right here.

Before anybody points fingers about the economy, let's get a few things straight:

The National Bank? The Super Bank "too big too fail"? Republicans via Alexander Hamilton, the founder of the Federalist Party, whose heir apparent was Henry Clay who turned the Republican Party into the Whig Party. It's their fault it exists.

The income tax? Republicans, the heirs of the Whig Party through Clay's political successor, protege and next door neighbor, Abraham Lincoln. The corporate lawyer for the largest railroad concern on the planet up to the 1860 election. It's their fault that exists.

Internal Improvements (i.e. Socialized planning, i.e. corporatism, i.e. mercantilism)? The Republicans. Up to the 1860 election, almost every State had banned internal improvements in their sovereign Constitutions, protected by the 10th Amendment to do so, because, like Lincoln's State of Illinois, which went bankrupt thanks to internal improvement schemes, they'd suffered a bust cycle from these socialized programs. The Republican Party was the Party for socialized business, for a planned economy.

Paper-backed money? The Republicans again! Through Lincoln's imposition of green backs, which his own fekking Treasurer ruled unconstitutional when he became a Chief Justice. Ref. 'The REAL Lincoln' Prof. Thomas Dilorenzo

The Dems re-instituted the National Bank through Hoover, but it was instated by the Reps. The Dems removed the gold standard, but the Reps, through Nixon, nixed the silver. Carter dumbed down the Union via the DOPE, but Bush made it worse with No Child Left Behind, and Obama through Common Core.

Reps? Dems? Same shit. Different asshole. They're both socialists.
