The Invisible Hand

I considered a cartoon using a similarly shocking metaphor early last year, with regard to the State of the Union address, but discarded it because I felt the topic was too petty for the metaphor. I ended up drawing this instead, at the time.

This time, I went ahead with the metaphor because I felt the symbolism was appropriate, given the seriousness of the topic.

I was also trying to draw in a style similar to Aidan Hughes, the artist behind Brute! Propaganda, probably best known in the US for his distinctive album covers for KMFDM.
